Kelly comes to the State Club with over five years experience in event marketing ranging from publishing to the hospitalality industry. Kelly has held positions at Real Simple Magazine, Train of Thought Marketing and Business Leader. Most recently she was the marketing director for the small hotel, located just outside of Pinehurst.
Kelly attended Northeastern University in Boston, Ma where she studied journalism and public relations.

Rick began his career in 1975 at Adam’s Son Restaurant in New York City, noted for its French nouvelle cuisine, where he worked his way up from the bottom to become Sous Chef. He went on to garner experience on the staff of some of the most famous establishments in New York including the Waldorf Astoria, Regines and Christos Restaurant. In 1986 Rick relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona where he worked at The Scottsdale Plaza Resort a Four Star, Four Diamond property. Over his 19 years at the resort, he was instrumental in enhancing the menus and operations of the resort’s food & beverage departments, while guiding the evolution of Remington’s the resorts fine dining restaurant.
Rick has been actively involved for many years in local community programs, charities, and has been a mentor to many Culinary Students associated with several national programs like C-CAP. He is currently the Chairperson of the Culinary and Hospitality program at Wake Tech Community College.
His numerous appearances on cooking shows and radio culinary programming made him a regular on the Phoenix airwaves. He has also been active in the American Culinary Federation since 1989, serving as President and on the board of directors, and is a member of the prestigious Honor Society The American Academy of Chefs.

Matt attended Johnson and Wales University where he attained a CulinaryArts Degree in 2002. Matt joined The State Club team in November of 2008 as Executive Chef. He previously served as the Sous Chef at Hope Valley Country Club and Executive Sous Chef at Brier Creek Country Club. He appreciates the great team and beautiful facilities he has at The State Club. In his spare time Matt enjoys all sports, playing golf and spending time with his wife, Kelli, and son, Luke.
Wendy Dorman, Banquet Director

A Raleigh native, Wendy Dorman is Banquet Director of The State Club, where she is responsible for reservations, menu development, staffing and all areas of event planning. Prior to joining The State Club, Wendy served as the Assistant Social Director at Carolina Country Club where she was in charge of all aspects of event planning and financing. Wendy obtained her bachelors degree from East Carolina University with a degree in Interior Design and a minor in Business. When she is not busy facilitating banquets and other events, she likes to spend time at home with her six horses. Wendy resides in Clinton.

Todd Walker has been working at The State Club since opening in 2006. Previously, Todd has spent time studying at Wake Tech, eventually receiving a Culinary Degree from the Art Institute of Washington, DC. Todd’s experience includes catering experience at Occasions Catering Company, servicing the Presidential Ball and working at the Library of Congress. While living in Raleigh, Todd has gained additional experience at Brier Creek Country Club and Carolina Country Club before settling in at TSC.

Lee spent her childhood and adolescence as a Navy dependent in Philadelphia, Cherry Point, Portsmouth, Boston, and Corpus Christi before graduating from college in San Diego, California with a major in English Literature and an elementary teaching credential. (A major in accounting came later). She settled in the San Diego area until 1999, where she taught elementary school for a year and worked with the American Cancer Society before joining Network Music, Inc., where she was the Administrative and Accounting Manager for twenty years. She relocated to Raleigh to join her extended family, who’s been in the area since the late 60s. She rounds out her time with interests in wildlife habitat gardening, bird watching, reading, movies, and politics.

Debbie has been working at The State Club since July of 2007 as the Member Account Coordinator. Prior to The State Club, Debbie worked at a furniture company in Durham, NC for 10 years as the Credit Manager and Bookkeeper. Originally from Michigan, she moved to North Carolina 26 years ago with her husband of 27 years. Debbie has three wonderful children, and one beautiful one-year old grandson.
