Wendy Dorman, General Manager
Wendy was born and raised in Raleigh. With a love for her Southern rural family roots, she spent the summers on her Grandparents tobacco farm in Clinton, NC where she quickly learned that summer porch swings, riding with her Granddaddy to check the tobacco barns, shelling and canning peas, butter beans, snap beans and let’s not forget “corn day” are truly her best childhood memories. Being afforded every pet imaginable growing up, she never did get that pony, so when she finally got the chance to be a “cowgirl” she jumped in boots deep! Now she resides as the fifth generation on the family farm compound, “Ranch QD.” Her menagerie consists of horses, a pony, pygmy goats, a parrot, a mini donkey, a cockatiel, two cats, a turkey, two bunnies and a huge flock of chickens. When not at the club she is tending to all the animals and chores. The ranch produces its own hay for the herd, plus sells hay and farm fresh eggs.
Despite a true passion for NC State, Wendy graduated from Peace College and East Carolina University majoring in interior design and business. Event planning landed on the career path by chance and parties have been the business ever since. The first ten years of the club have been a developing challenge, as will the continuing years now as the general manager. Simply stated “it’s a dream, in working process!”
